Garage Door Spring Replacement & Cable Repair in Cleveland, OH
Garage door springs lift almost the entire weight of your door. When a spring breaks, the door becomes extremely heavy, the opener struggles, and the door may not open at all.
Our Cleveland technicians replace torsion and extension springs, broken or frayed garage door cables, and put off-track doors back on track – then balance and safety-test the door before we leave.
Signs of a Broken Spring or Cable
- ✔A loud bang came from the garage
- ✔Door will not lift, or feels very heavy
- ✔Visible gap in the torsion spring above the door
- ✔Door opens crooked or uneven
- ✔Cable is snapped, loose or hanging
- ✔Door came off its track
- ✔Opener runs but the door barely moves
What Our Spring & Cable Repair Includes

- ✔Extension spring replacement with safety cables
- ✔Garage door cable replacement and drum check
- ✔Off-track door repair – rollers and tracks realigned

Safety first: garage door springs are under extreme tension. Please do not try to lift the door or replace a spring yourself – call a trained technician.
Garage Door Spring & Cable FAQ
How do I know if my garage door spring is broken?
Common signs are a loud bang from the garage, a visible gap in the spring above the door, a door that feels very heavy, or an opener that runs but cannot lift the door.
Can I open my garage door with a broken spring?
We do not recommend it. Without a working spring the door is extremely heavy and can drop suddenly. Call us and we will replace the spring safely.
Should both garage door springs be replaced at the same time?
If your door has two springs, we usually recommend replacing both. They wear at the same rate, so when one breaks the other is often close behind.
What is the difference between torsion and extension springs?
Torsion springs sit on a bar above the door and twist to lift it. Extension springs run along the side tracks and stretch. We repair and replace both types.
Can you fix a garage door that came off track?
Yes. We put off-track doors back on track, replace bent rollers or damaged cables, and realign the tracks so it does not happen again.
